Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I access the workshop?
You will be emailed a link and a code to the workshop. Use the code from the email to access the workshop and view at your convenience.
What do I need to have on hand during the workshop?
If you are a beginner you may only want a print out of your workbook and a pen to take notes. If you are a more experienced preserver you may want to preserve along with us, in which case you will need your usual fowlers preserving equipment.
How will the workshop run? Can I ask questions?
This is a recorded copy of a live workshop we hosted online in 2021. Participants had the opportunity at the conclusion of the workshop to ask questions. If you have questions that were not answered please feel free to contact us – we are always available to help on your preserving journey.
How safe is preserving?
This food skill is more than 100 years old, and modern science has given us the benefit of understanding exactly how safe it is. Those Barossa Girls work within food safety guidelines set down by regulatory bodies, and we will not advocate or teach practices that are not proven. Fowlers Vacola bottling is a proven and safe method that relies on some very simple rules to eliminate the possibility of food spoilage or pathogens. It is important that home preservers understand the importance of safe food practices, and we will teach you how to apply those simple rules to your preserving.
